The event draws racers from across North America and leaves B&B’s and hotel rooms booked from Green Bank to Beaverton. Racing action is non-stop with teams starting and finishing every few minutes.

Ice sculpting transforms Cannington’s downtown core and family-oriented events like pancake breakfasts, scavenger hunts and Big Foot races abound. A horse-drawn wagon offers transportation between the dog sled races and the Main Street of town. Adding to an already festive event is a Saturday night capped with comedy entertainment and after party.

Old crowd favorites like the Toilet Seat Toss and the Ice Sculpture Competition will be joined by a Live Bandstand and Beer Gardens, running Saturday from noon.

We’re also honored to be hosting the Oshawa Metis Council who will be taking us back in time with their authentic native foods, full ceremonial dress and traditional smudging ceremonies to open the races.
